PINBALL TEST CHIP for WILLIAMS and DATA EAST PINBALLS

This extremely powerful diagnostic tool is a must for any technician who has ever been faced with troubleshooting a dead Williams pinball or shuffle alley. Plug this TEST ROM into your non-functioning MPU board and if the board runs, you know instantly that you have a bad GAME ROM and not a hardware problem on your board. If your board won't come up with the TEST CHIP installed, you know you have a hardware problem. The detailed manual provided will then help you to repair your MPU and driver boards as it guides you through step-by-step testing of MPU RAM, all controlled solenoids, switch triggered solenoids, lamp rows, lamp columns, switch strobes, switch returns, all display digits and segments. The TEST CHIP program allows you to advance through numbered tests while the game's own score displays show the identification numbers of the transistors under test. The numbers displayed correspond to the numbers in the schematics for ease of repair. Tests are much more detailed than those in the "test mode" of the original game, and allow greater flexibility to isolate bad components. The manuals that come with the TEST CHIPs were written by Bob Sokol and contain many helpful hints that we have learned over the years working on these systems.

FIXIT module

for all BALLY and STERN pinball MPU boards

• A small module which plugs in to the J5 pin header strip on any Bally or Stern MPU board.
  
• When installed it functions as the GAME ROMs, the 6810 Static RAM and the battery backed 5101 RAM for the main board so those sockets remain empty.
  
• Onboard reset circuit to delay and drive the power-on-reset circuit of the main board.
  
• It contains the game programs for all known games and can be set with a dip switch.
  
• It allows ANY game to play on ANY board, including MPU-200 games on a dash 17 board.
  
• If all dips are OFF, it chooses the TWOBITS diagnostic program that was provided on our (No longer available, sold for $329.) BALLY / STERN TEST FIXTURE allowing you to troubleshoot MPU boards AND to use a good MPU to diagnose other problems in your cabinet.
  
• As an available option, we are reproducing the switch matrix board and harness which, along with the TESTER module made up the old BALLY STERN TEST FIXTURE.
